A Report on the Intellectual Tradition of Self-Generating Systems of Information: With an Elaboration on the Formal Syntax of the Absurd. Speech is generated through various means: description of physical stimuli, expression of internal dream-narration and recitation of selected philosophical statements. The tributaries of these speech-streams are incorporated into one river of language which is transmitted to a blind typist who turns speech into written text. That text feeds into an auto-cue, a speech-making machine, which is then read aloud by a reporter. At each point of generation, comprehension or transmission, the actors attempt to hold onto meaning, as slippery as it becomes. A Report [...] is a bureaucratic machine of brains, mouths and vocal chords-individual functions working together (and failing together) to produce a simulacrum of factual knowledge in the form of a journalistic report.
